Daily Step #8 – Bible Verse

Standard

walking on the beach

“Find a Bible verse to help you with a situation that you are facing right now.”

Before I get to that, this chapter starts by discussing Wagner’s training for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.  I did that walk before.  It was a great experience that I did alone.  I raised all the money (over $2500) and walked just the first day (that was my goal – and I expressed that when asking for donations) which was 26.2 miles.

The walk started on the beach in Santa Monica and continued through the streets of LA.  Around mile 17, I almost gave up.  It was exhausting and I was alone.  Then I made a friend with a lady who was also walking alone.  I am sure she felt the same way I did – there was no way we could have finished without one another.

Somewhere I have a polaroid picture of the two of us.  I don’t remember her name, but I will never forget her and how without her I would have never finished that walk.

I found two verses that will help me through my current situation.

2 Timothy 4:16-18

At my first defense no one came to stand by me, but all deserted me. May it not be charged against them! But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Genesis 2:18

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
