What is Art to Me?

Standard

art

This is artwork I created.  No stencils, no design in mind – just a quote I love that I wrote out on a recycled pallet I painted and glued the starfish on.

This post is part of my challenge: October 2013 – Personal Blog Prompt Series.  See the whole list here.

To you, what is art? What classifies something as abstract art?

Art to me is anything that someone has created.  It doesn’t matter what it is – it could be a painting, a drawing, a project, a building, a car…  It’s all art to me!  It was created, designed and put together based on someone’s plan or just going for it.  Usually the result expresses how someone sees the world, or a piece of it, and viewing that through someone else’s eyes can be transformational.  It’s a unique point of view.

Art is also just the day.  What the weather creates.  What you create.  There is art everywhere.

The best artwork, though, is something created by a child.

Abstract art is basically anything I can’t understand… :/
